Dog birthday cards sung by the dog, with the dog's real face

A dog birthday card where your dog's real face sings and dances. Cards from the dog, for the dog, and for dog lovers. Free preview, $1.99.

A dog birthday card is better when the dog is in it. On Tangy Limes, you upload a photo of your dog and its real face, cut out of the picture, goes on a dancing dog that sings an original birthday song, mouth moving to the words. No cartoon beagle standing in for yours. Your actual dog, with your actual dog's expression, which is usually confusion.

There are three kinds of dog birthday card people go looking for, and they all work the same way.

Three kinds of dog birthday card

A card for the dog's birthday. The dog turns four, the dog gets a music video. Post it in the family chat, or text it to the friend who threw the dog a party last year and will absolutely throw another one. Put the dog's name in the intro so there's no confusion about whose day it is.

A birthday card from the dog. This is the one for dog moms, dog dads, roommates and anyone whose dog has opinions. The dog's face goes on the dancer, the card is signed from the dog, and it goes to the human's phone on their birthday. A happy birthday from the dog lands harder than one from you, mostly because the dog has never sent anything before.

A card for a dog lover. Your friend's birthday, their dog's face. You'll need a photo of the dog, which their Instagram is already full of. If the reply is all about the dog and not about you, that's fair. You know who the favorite is.

The cards

Pawty Animals is the dog birthday card. It fits two people and two pets. It starts at a backyard birthday party with balloons, streamers and a cake on the picnic table, with a dancing golden retriever on its hind legs, paws waving and tail going. Then a living room under a disco ball, with confetti and a falling birthday banner. Cats can come too, if the house has a cat who wants credit.

Birthday Superstar is a one-face card: a red carpet with flashing cameras, a stadium stage with fireworks, and a rooftop pool with flamingos. A dog's face can go on any dancer, not only the dog ones, so your dog can be the person in the gold tracksuit blowing kisses at the crowd. It looks exactly as ridiculous as you're picturing.

You're Old Now is for the senior dog. Bingo hall, porch rocking chair, a golf cart, a retirement-home cake with too many candles. If the dog is eleven and naps in the sun for nine hours a day, it has earned this.

Want more options for the humans in your life? The birthday cards page has the full lineup, and you can drop a dog's face into any of them.

Lines for the headline

Every card's big headline can be rewritten. A few that work for dogs:

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THE DOG
  • I ATE YOUR CAKE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
  • WHO'S A GOOD BIRTHDAY BOY
  • FOUR YEARS OF BEING A GOOD GIRL
  • OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER, STILL CHEWING SHOES
  • YOU'RE MY FAVORITE HUMAN (DON'T TELL THE OTHERS)
  • I GOT YOU NOTHING. I'M A DOG.
  • SIT. STAY. HAVE A GREAT BIRTHDAY.

Getting a dog photo that works

The dog has to face the camera, which is the hard part. A trick that often works: hold a treat right above your phone's lens, say their name, and take a burst. You want both eyes and the whole snout, in decent light, with nothing covering the face. A blurry tail and a perfectly sharp face is a win.

Then:

  1. Open Pawty Animals and add the photo, or take one right there on your phone.
  2. Tap to choose which dancer gets the dog. Add a person or two if they're invited.
  3. Type the names for the intro.
  4. Watch the free preview with your dog in it.

The faces are real cutouts with no AI changes, and only the mouths move, so your dog still looks like your dog, just with a singing career. If the head looks too big for the dancer, shrink it. If an ear got cut off, paint it back in.

Downloading the card is $1.99, with no subscription and nothing to cancel later. Send a share link that plays in any chat, text the MP4, or email it to up to five people from the card page. The dog will not watch it. That's fine. The dog was there.

Questions

Can my dog's face really go on the card?

Yes. Dog and cat faces in your photos are found and cut out, the same as people. The face is a real cutout from your photo, and the mouth moves to the song.

Which card is the dog birthday one?

Pawty Animals. It fits two people and two pets, with dancing dogs and cats at a backyard party with a cake and a living room with a disco ball.

Can I send a birthday card from the dog to a person?

Yes. Put the dog's face on the card, type the dog's name in the intro, and send it to the human. Signing it from the dog is the whole joke.

What photo of my dog works best?

A clear, front-facing shot where you can see both eyes and the snout, in good light. Hold a treat right above your phone to get the look.

How much is it?

The preview with your dog in it is free. Downloading the card is $1.99, with no subscription.
